Morgan Keegan Ranks Among Top Ten Underwriters in Nation in First Half 2009, all of 2008

Morgan Keegan is one of the nation's largest underwriters of municipal bonds. The firm was the eighth largest underwriter in the country for the first half of 2009, serving as book running manager on 262 issues with a par amount of $5 billion, according to Thomson Reuters. In addition, as an underwriter of Build America Bonds, Morgan Keegan ranked eighth nationally as the book running manager on 17 issues with a par amount of $522.7 million. Those follows a strong performance in 2008 when, according to Thomson Reuters, the firm was the tenth largest underwriter nationally as book running manager on 457 issues with a par value of $10.7 billion. And, for the 16th consecutive year, Morgan Keegan was the leading underwriter of municipal bonds in the South Central region of the country for 2008. The firm also held the number one ranking, in number of transactions, in the Southeast and Southwest regions. Additionally, Morgan Keegan was the leading underwriter of bank qualified issues in 2008.
