Robert A. Baird is president of the firm’s Fixed Income Capital Markets division and an executive managing director of Morgan Keegan & Company, Inc. The fixed income division encompasses more than 500 professionals in underwriting, investment banking, sales, trading and bond research. A 30-year veteran with Morgan Keegan, Baird joined the firm in 1979 as a public finance investment banker. Since 1996, he has headed the fixed income investment banking effort, which today includes 23 public finance offices and more than 180 investment banking professionals. Under Baird’s leadership, Morgan Keegan consistently ranks as one of the leading senior managers of long-term municipal issues in the nation. He currently serves on the municipal securities executive committee of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).
